Our friend Dominic Lucero played Bumlets. Before Newsies he worked on lots of tours and work as assistant choreogragher on many of them. After Newsies he was in the Nickolodeon show Roundhouse with many other fellow Newsies. After the first season he was diagnosed with terminal lymphatic cancer. He had to leave the show because he was ill and lived with his mom. His name was still kept in the credits of Roundhouse and he appeared in 3 episodes. The show was shut down after its 4th season. Dominic died on July 11, 1994 before the finale. The finale was detcated to him. He died at thga young age of 26. A Dominic Poem by Unknown
Why is this world so cruel?
Friends are taken from us too soon.
Never to acheive their full potential,
Gunned down by disease at high noon.
We take for granted, the friends we have.
Never do we take a moment to think,
Of what life would be like without them.
Here one minute, gone with an eye's blink.
One such person touched out lives so greatly,
And was taken in his prime.
His talents were many, and shown to us,
But, the Man Upstairs said it was his time.
We cried when we heard the news,
That he died in July '94.
How could it happen? This wasn't fair!
But up to Heaven, his soul did soar.
His physical body may be gone from us,
But his spirit lives on in us anew.
Dominic, if you can hear us,
We miss you, and we'll never forget you.
